CONSCIENCE: The Real Story of The Bible

Hebrews 9:14: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience
from dead works to serve the living God?

The real story of the Bible can be summed up in one word: CONSCIENCE. It is the absolutely true story of how God the creator of all things set out to create a progeny
whose conscience would be perfect and absolutely good like his own. The process is painstakingly slow; spans several ages and all of creation has waited with bated
breath for the revelation of this new creation; the new species of beings that did not exist in the universe prior to Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

•        This process involves pain, even the pain of death yet it leads to eternal life.
•        This process leads to absolute goodness yet it requires the knowledge of evil.

The story of the Bible is that of two opposite beings, one absolutely good and the other absolutely evil, one light and the other darkness, one life and the other death. It
is the story of the God and the Devil and that of man whose final destination would be one or the other depending on whose conscience he would acquire. As an aside,
God the creator of all things is eternal and self-existent; the devil (Lucifer, Satan) was created by God to serve his purposes; the devil is neither self-existent nor eternal.
The first man (Adam) and the first woman (Eve) were placed by their creator God in the Garden of Eden in which these two absolutes were symbolized by two trees:
The
Tree of Life
which signified death for without death it served no purpose and The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Two absolute opposites in the
garden and man was placed smack in the middle between the two. Interestingly when first created man was neither immortal like God nor was he was mortal like the
devil; he could have lived forever but he was also capable of dying; he was not (yet) incorruptible as God is incorruptible and neither was he corrupt like the devil. He
was neither good like God nor was he evil like the devil; he had no knowledge of good and evil and therefore like an infant he could not make moral judgments.

Without the knowledge of good and evil it is not possible to have a conscience so the first man and woman had no conscience. This may seem strange but the fact of
the matter is that it is impossible to program a conscience into any creature. Like a robot or a computer the first man and woman were intelligent and had a great deal of
empirical knowledge but had no spiritual knowledge. Spiritual knowledge is the knowledge of good and evil; literally it is the knowledge of the two opposite spirits in the
universe: God and the devil. People generally confuse
SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE with the knowledge of the SPIRIT WORLD; almost all cultures have rituals and
ceremonies designed to communicate with creatures from the spirit realm but just understanding that there are other invisible dimensions in which intelligent creatures
exist does not make one spiritual. A truly spiritual person has his conscience developed and matured to fully distinguish between good and evil and such a person
understands both God and the devil.

Hebrews 5:14 ‘But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised
to discern both good and evil.’ In this scripture, 'FULL AGE' refers to full Spiritual Maturity.

The Bible then is a history book: first of all it is the only book on Earth that records all history, past present and future. It is the only book that has the complete history of
creation; it explains God the creator; how he created all things and why he created them. It explains life and it also explains death. It does not avoid the question of evil
but explains perfectly how and why evil came into existence. Above all it tells us the purpose for which man was created and his place in the cosmos. It describes in detail
the process by which mankind was made a creature of conscience by giving them the knowledge of good and evil. As explained above Adam and Eve were not
creatures of conscience in the beginning but rather robot like beings, intelligent but not spiritual. God however did not create them to be mere robots unable to make
moral choices.
Only if they understood good and evil would they be able to understand God and be truly able to love Him even as He loved them. In order
to become moral they also had to become mortal; death then was the price that needed to be paid to make them perfect spiritual beings capable of fully understanding
and loving their creator. Their conscience had to be molded, to be shaped, to be sculpted in the image of either God or the devil. In order for man to acquire a perfect
conscience a process had to be followed that was neither quick nor without pain. The pain was not a mere minor pain like a sprained ankle or a headache but rather the
ultimate form of pain, the pain of death.

This process which is summarized below is the real and true story of the Bible:
•        Create man with the ability to have a conscience; to be able to differentiate between good and evil (not be a  mere robot).
•        Allow him to be exposed to evil and thereby acquire an evil conscience, a defiled conscience. This is why the serpent was present in the
Garden of Eden to provide man with the knowledge of evil.
•        Purge man’s conscience by the shedding of the pure blood of Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh. God became flesh and blood to provide the
pure blood by which alone man’s defiled conscience could be purged. The relationship of blood to purification is a complex one and will be addressed
in a separate article.
•        Man’s conscience once purged of all evil would be a perfectly good conscience just as that of God and in every sense of the word man would
become the progeny of God which angels or any other creatures of the universe are not. The purging of the conscience is akin to an immunization
program; by allowing man to be exposed to evil to acquire a defiled conscience and by then purging him of that evil God would make man forever
immune to evil.
•        This process had to be a process: there are no shortcuts by which the progeny of God could be made equal in conscience and character to
himself. This is why the absolutely good God allowed evil to come into existence and allowed man to be exposed to that evil even at the expense of
man becoming a mortal. Lest man accuse God of making him a mortal, a prisoner of death from which there is no escape; firstly man entered this state
by his own choice and secondly God himself took on the guise of mortal flesh and paid the ultimate price to free mankind from the curse of death.

The kingdom of God that is yet to come is reserved for those who like God are perfect in conscience; in other words their conscience is absolutely good, they are
incapable of even thinking thoughts of evil even as God is incapable of thinking or doing anything that would be evil. Such creatures are worthy of inheriting God’s
kingdom and of eternal life. When Jesus arose from the dead he became the first man that was perfect in conscience even as God is perfect. This is why the Bible calls
him The First Begotten; he is the first of many children of God who will be perfect, who will be equal in conscience to God. The process is nearly complete and will be
finally consummated when all those who have placed their faith in the only begotten Son of God even at the expense of their bodily lives will be resurrected to never die
again. This script is more fantastic than any that Hollywood could script and yet like truth that is stranger than fiction it is absolutely true; believe it or not!

The above was a brief summary of what the Bible is truly all about; you may choose to study it for yourself and if you sincerely seek the truth you will find it. The complex
subjects of morality, mortality and conscience cannot really be summarized in a few pages so this is an ever continuing work. Please listen to my Audio series titled
