A frequent claim in mythologies as for example in Greek mythology is that before anything existed there was
CHAOS.
This however is a contradictory claim for if chaos existed before anything else existed then chaos would be the
beginning of existence but how did chaos come about and what exactly is chaos? Chaos implies destruction of
material existence and therefore without material existence it would not be possible to have chaos. Chaos implies the
existence of matter and therefore matter must have come first or in the beginning before there could have been any
chaos. The Big Bang
THEORY (theory is capitalized here to emphasize the fact that it a theory for which there is no
proof even though many credentialed professors attempt to present it as fact) is a version of the Chaos theory of
mythology. The Big Bang is the Chaos out of which order arose but even the Big Bang is not the beginning because it
begins with matter even though scientists try and explain this fact away by stating that this matter was minute, the size
of an atom perhaps but cannot explain where the matter came from. Mythology and science both fail to explain the
origin of all things since they do not address the issue that the originating person or power or force or intelligence
would have had to transcend time and space in order to set in motion the events that lead to the intelligent creation or
random formation of all things. So then we need to find another explanation for the origin of matter, space and time
and that explanation is to be found in the pages of the Bible.

Transcending Time and Space: GOD

A question frequently asked is ‘where did God come from? In order to answer this question correctly we need to
understand the nature of Time. In its simplest form time is a measurement of change. For instance the sun rises and
then the sun sets; the change that occurs from the moment the sun rises to the moment the sun sets is measured in
units of time. Where there is no change there is no time. If the sun never set there would be no change and there
would be no time. Before time can be measured an event or events have to be taking place. An EVENT is defined as
“something that occurs in a certain place during a particular interval of time”. Events are products of time but
conversely Time is a product of events. Where there are no events there can be no Time.
Genesis 1:1: In the
BEGINNING God created the heaven and the earth
. The very first recorded events in any history are the
creation of The Heaven and The Earth. The cosmic clock began ticking at the creation of The Heaven since this was
the very first event that brought about a change from a previous state where there was no change. The word
Beginning in the Bible indicates the beginning of space and matter; prior to this event of the creation of The Heaven
there is no record of any space having existed. So the beginning is the beginning of SPACE but also the beginning of
TIME since this is the very first recorded event that indicates a change by which time can be measured. We can go
back in time and measure time until the moment of the beginning of the creation of The Heaven but no further since
there is no other event prior to this one by which we could measure time. So the BEGINNING in the Bible is the
beginning of TIME and SPACE. However since God is the one who initiated these acts of creation that are the
beginning of Time and Space it is obvious that he himself transcends both time and space. God existed before the
beginning so He is not subject to time nor does he occupy any space since he existed before there was any space.

How does God transcend time?

•
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not….
•
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with
whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
•
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The Bible teaches in no uncertain terms that
GOD IS A CONSTANT without change and without variableness.
Therefore God is not subject to time because he can never change and time itself is a measure of change. Anyone or
anything that is a constant is not subject to time. For example if the sun never had any change, its light never varied,
it never arose and never set it would not be subject to time even though everything around it might be constantly
changing. The Earth and the planets may come and go, the moon may disappear but the sun would be the same as it
was a billion years ago, as it was a million years ago and as it will be a billion years from now if the sun did not
change. Thus being a constant the sun would not be subject to time. This is exactly how God is; He is an
unchangeable constant. He is the same as He was before the beginning, as He was at the time of creation and as He
will be in the infinite future. Since the beginning of creation everything around Him is in a constant state of flux, of
change but He Himself never changes and thus never has been nor will ever be subject to Time. God can be
compared to the axis of the Earth; even though the Earth may be in constant motion, the axis is always stationary,
never changing. The very name of God, JEHOVAH means I Am, Self Existent, Eternal. His existence depends neither
on Time or Space or any creature since He is the Creator of all things and all things including Time and Space are
sustained by Him not the other way around.

To illustrate this further I will cite the story from an episode of the old Twilight Zone TV series by Rod Serling. In this
episode a man finds a stop watch that can stop everything around him when he presses the watch stop button. He
uses this watch to rob banks; by pressing stop on the watch he stops everything around him, robs the bank and
presses start once he has left the vicinity of the bank. Everything was going great till one day as he his coming out of
the bank he stumbles and drops the watch which breaks. Everything around him stays frozen and he alone is able to
move. The point here is that everything around him was no longer subject to time since it was no longer subject to
change; he alone of all things on Earth was subject to time since he was still subject to change. This is how God is;
everything around him is constantly changing but he himself never changes and is therefore never subject to time.

Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from
everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

                                                How does God transcend Space?

God existed before there was any space so it is obvious that He transcends space but the question is how? In order
to answer this question we have to understand WHAT IS GOD? Not so much as to who is God but rather those
attributes of God that make it possible for Him not to occupy any space.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2 The same
was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was
made.
The Bible does not define God in terms of abstracts but in very specific terms. The apostle John defines God as THE
WORD. The Word in the Greek language is LOGOS, the definition of which can be found below.

WORD / LOGOS: Λόγος lógos; gen. lógou, masc. noun from légō (G3004), to speak intelligently.
Intelligence, word as the expression of that intelligence, discourse, saying, thing.

What Logos or WORD tells us is that
God is The Intelligence that has made all things. God not only has
intelligence God is Intelligence, moreover He is all intelligence; in other words there can exist no
intelligence that is beyond His intelligence
. Before anything existed God the invisible immaterial intelligence
existed. This Intelligence or Word as the Bible calls Him is immaterial and therefore needs to occupy no space. God
therefore is not an old man with a long beard, God is not George Burns! God is best described and defined by his
attributes as recorded in the Bible and listed below:

•        God is Spirit
•        God is Life
•        God is Love meaning God is a sentient being
•        God is Light
•        God is The Word

The following attributes of God are derived from the definition of WORD or LOGOS:

•        God is The Intelligence or The Mind that has planned, created, formed and is in control of all of creation.
•        God is Energy:
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful… The word ‘Quick’ in archaic
Elizabethan English means alive and the word
POWERFUL is a translation of the Greek word Energeo from which we
have received the English word
ENERGY. So if God is the Word and the Word is powerful or Energy then it stands to
reason that God is powerful and that
God is Energy.

Combining all of these attributes we can define God as follows:
God is the Living Spirit that is an immaterial, intelligent, powerful, sentient being that occupies no space since He is
not material or made out of matter. Moreover God is the original source of power or Energy from which all creation
receives its power or energy and therefore He is
ALL POWERFUL or ALMIGHTY.

In conclusion the fact that God is Spirit, God is Pure Intelligence and God is Pure Energy point to the real attributes
that make God God. Since none of these attributes require space or matter to exist proves that God’s existence
transcends space just as it transcends time. Furthermore since God is constant and never changing it means that's
God's Energy or Power is not diminishing or being used up. So no matter how much energy is applied by God to any
event such as the creation of the material heavens and Earth or even to the creation of organic life God's energy
remains undiminished. This in a sense is the real meaning of
FREE ENERGY: energy that never runs out, so those
searching for FREE ENERGY ought to be searching for God since He alone is the unlimited source for all energy!

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear.

In the next chapter of this series I will address how the worlds were framed by the word of God, how visible material
things were made out of invisible power or energy. Note that in the above scripture the Bible uses the plural form of
WORLD stating clearly that God made worlds not just one world. It also tells us that by faith we can UNDERSTAND
that these worlds were framed by the word of God, they just did not pop out of nowhere. The mechanics of how this
world and other worlds were framed will be explained in the next chapter.
